Now you are a proud Mum, and this is your first baby, and everything seems fine and rosy as he or she snuggles in your arms asleep. This will be a very special time but much hard work and a great degree of responsibility now rest firmly on your shoulders.
Certainly you will have received instruction at the pre-natal clinic and from the mid wife as to how to cope with a new born baby, but you will be on your own with the infant for most of the time, so personal experience will become paramount.
